This song is called "No Death Here Tonight."
We wrote this last year at the height of the pandemic, when the world was besieged by the deadly virus and casualties were piling everywhere. It was a time of suffering, fear and uncertainty. Death came for a lot of people and some of them were our friends and family.
Sheryl's words are almost like a prayer. In the middle of darkness lies a glimmer of hope that death is not here, at least for tonight. It is this tiny respite from pain and suffering that propels us to take little steps towards life. Now, those steps have become walks and runs. Life prevails.

Where are you going?
What’s on your mind?
What are you scared of?
Everything’s fine.
Erase all the worries
Deep in your heart.
Quiet the noises,
Step into the light.
I know you want it
I know you need it
But there’s no death here tonight
I’ll whisper it in your ears.
You will keep on thinking
And you’ll keep on hurting
But you’ll go on breathing
And you’ll go on living.
Living. Living. Living.
It’s complicated
But I understand.
Fight just a little
I’ll hold your hand.
I know you want it I know you need it But there’s no death here tonight I’ll whisper it in your ears. You will keep on thinking And you’ll keep on hurting But you’ll go on breathing And you’ll go on living. And healing.
And feeling.
And loving.
And waiting.
Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.
